Expanded information for the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS
Its always nice to get something for free, and this is no exception. With free Lifetime Map and Traffic updates, you always have the most up-to-date maps, points of interest and navigation information available at your fingertips, and you don’t have to buy a new unit every few years.
Even traffic information is updated all the time, and you can download map updates up to 4 times a year. Both features are available right out of the box, with no subscription or update fees and no expiration dates.
Stick the unit in your pocket, for with its enhanced pedestrian navigation capabilities, the 1350LMT is a great travel companion for getting around the city. You can even download optional cityXplorer content to help you navigate city buses and subways. Know where to walk, where the bus stops are, subway, tram or other transportation and their schedules. Select cities throughout North America and Europe have cityXplorer maps available. And with prices as low as $9.99, you'll have money left over to spend in the big city.
Another great feature is that the 1350 is twenty-five percent slimmer than some other units, so you can take the 1350LMT with you. Just stick it in your pocket or purse, and its rechargeable lithium-ion battery will make it convenient for travel by car or foot.
Just like the 1450 unit, you have lane assist to guide you to the correct lane for an upcoming turn or exit, helpful if you are not familiar with the intersections and exits, making them easy to handle.
When you turn the unit on, it greets you with two simple questions: "Where To?" and "View Map." Just touch the color screen to look up addresses and services and get pleasant voice directions that speak turn-by turn and street names to your objective.
Like other units, the 1350 comes preloaded with up-to-date City Navigator NT street maps, nearly 6 million places of interest (POIs), 2-D or 3-D maps and (helpful) speed limits for most major highways in the U.S. and Europe.
Shaded contours at higher zoom levels are provided by the digital elevation maps to give you a nice picture of the area around you. With the 1350LMT's special features, you can slide your finger to easily flip between screens. If you have special places you want to see, you can also access other points of interest (POIs) to you.
Other benefits of having the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS unit is the ecoRoute, which figures out the best way to save gas and money on your trip.
Other travel tools include JPEG picture viewer, world clock with all time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. And, with the "Where Am I?" emergency finder, you always know where you are. Just touch the screen to get your latitude and longitude coordinates, the closest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and fuel depots.
Also, make your trip more memorable with the optional plug-in microSD cards.
